Events in May
Good morning all,
May is Bike Month, and we wanted to pass along two great riding events happening right here in Needham. These aren't our events, we're just sharing the word because we think they're worth knowing about!
Bike to Work Day — Thursday, May 7, Organized by The City of Boston
- Meet: Needham Town Hall, 1471 Highland Ave, at 6:15 a.m.
- Route: ~16 miles through Newton and Watertown into downtown Boston
- Route Home: Those not working in Boston: You can bike home (with the same leader), or take the commuter rail out of South Station
- Destination: City Hall Plaza, with a free festival from 7:30–9:30 a.m. featuring breakfast, coffee, and an expo
- Cost: Free, registration is encouraged so ride leaders know who to expect (and have contact information in case someone gets lost), and to sign up for a free t-shirt
Needham Bike Party — Saturday, May 16 Organized by Let's Bike! Needham
- Meet: Needham Common (outside Town Hall) at 7:45 p.m., roll at 8:00 p.m.
- Route: A casual 7–9 mile evening loop through Needham, with a ride leader and caboose
- Vibe: Lights, tunes, and a social atmosphere
- Cost: Free & no signup needed
- After: Optional hangout at Conrad's
All are welcome: neighbors, friends, families, people from surrounding towns, anyone who likes to ride two wheels. Haven't biked in Needham in a while? This is your perfect opportunity.

Both events are a great reminder of what it feels like to move through our community by bike and why that experience is worth improving for everyone. Hope to see you out there!
Happy Monday, Aidan Boni
